UCLA Sustainability

Institute of the Environment and Sustainability

The Institute of the Environment and Sustainability moves science to action on the front lines of environmental progress. Using Los Angeles and California as a testbed, IoES promises solutions for the broader world—and our commitment to communications makes sure our ideas are heard.

UCLA Luskin Center for Innovation

The mission of the Luskin Center is to unite the intellectual capital of UCLA with forward-looking civic leaders to address the most pressing issues confronting our community, nation, and world. To achieve this mission, the Luskin Center is organized around initiatives that seek to translate world-class research and expertise into real-world policy solutions. See the side bars for links to our various initiative pages. Cross-cutting themes across many of our initiative areas include sustainability, technology, and environmental justice.

UCLA Sustainability

Sustainability at UCLA is broad and encompasses every aspect of the university, from training the leaders of tomorrow to have the skills to face complex global sustainability issues, to how we operate the university throughout housing, medical centers, classrooms and all of our facilities. UCLA, along with the UC System is working towards a number of significant sustainability goals, set forth in the UC Policy on Sustainable Practices.
