The Night of Ideas, a French embassy program, has multi-city participation around the world. This year, it will converge in Los Angeles with the “First Fridays” cycle of Natural History Museum LA (NHMLA) for a dynamic all-night program designed to resonate with the 2019 worldwide theme “Facing our Time.”

The emphasis of the program will be on climate change and sustainable development expressed through talks, films, performances, music and interactive discussions around the intersections of science, philosophy, art, nature and culture.

The Night of Ideas is an evening program (6pm to midnight in LA) that aims at attracting and inspiring discussion between cultures and generations with great artists, top-name musicians, and scientific presentations in various formats. There will be taste-making live performances by musicians, bands, and DJs; and the whole museum will be open to explore, with pop-up performances and surprises in historic halls and brand-new exhibitions. Our expected attendance for the evening is over 2,000 visitors.
